Gracias Madre
We love this restaurant not only for its delicious vegan Mexican fare but for its beautiful aesthetic as well. It has an incredibly airy feel thanks to its white brick walls and exposed white wooden beamed ceilings. Distressed wood flooring and industrial black lighting fixtures complement this clean feeling. The birdcage-like lighting fixtures hang above arguably the most Instagrammable part of the restaurant – the beautiful blue and white tiled bar. All of these elements can be incorporated into your home in order to achieve a clean, airy, contemporary home with touches of flair and color.
Republique
It’s nearly impossible to compile a list of Los Angeles’ most beautiful restaurants and not include the modern French restaurant Republique. While the dramatic vaulted ceilings and skylights may be difficult to emulate in most of our homes, aspects of the design can be incorporated by all. The long dining rooms are highlighted by extra long communal wooden dining tables, which are complemented by deep blue walls and neutral colored brick walls. If you do happen to have a home with dramatically vaulted ceilings, a nice way to offset the potential coldness of the large room is to hang industrial lightbulbs from the ceiling in order to center the room and create a more homey feel. Republique has done just that, adding a touch of modernity to an otherwise old world restaurant.
Catch LA
This popular outdoor West Hollywood eatery provides perfect inspiration for designing your outdoor space. The walkway leading to the main dining room exhibits exposed brick walls and an overhead trellis, both covered in colorful flowers. The overgrown, natural look of the garden can be easily incorporated into your outdoor space in order to achieve a fairy tale-esque space.
The Little Next Door
The most eye catching design element of this West Hollywood gem is its signature blue walls. The restaurant is fashioned after a French brasserie to mirror its French cuisine. Deep blue can seem a daunting color to mimic in your own home, but in small doses (like a statement wall) it can be easily adaptable.
Norah
Norah is another bright and airy restaurant to make our list. It has a contemporary and edgy aesthetic while still retaining its comfortable vibe. Long-wired lightbulbs tied together with wire hang above long communal wooden tables, while futuristic black and white paintings decorate the expansive walls. One side of the restaurant’s bar is white marble, while the opposite side is black marble. To incorporate this look into your own home, think of mixing light woods with white open air ceilings, contemporary light fixtures, various types of marble, and modern artwork.
